User's Bio: It's late for me so I'll try to be brief. I began traveling at 18 with a summer trip to Europe. My longest trip so far was 6 months across Africa in 1990. I've been to Tahiti, Bora Bora, Easter Island on one trip. I've been to Iceland and Scotland on another. (Went to a science fiction convention and met a klingon in a kilt from Hawaii.) Several trips to Germany and Singapore for work as well as lots of US/Canada travel. I enjoy traveling even for work though one year (2001!) I ended up doing 50,000 miles in the last 3 months which was really weird. I spent 3 weeks in southern Italy - I love volcanoes so I went to Sicily. I've been to Australia twice and want to go back. I like nature so last year I went to the Amazon in Peru. Just came back from Japan - I went to the World Science Fiction Convention there. For my 50th birthday year I want to do a RTW trip, but unfortunately I can't take 6 months again. Still I figure it could be fun if only a few months. In the meanwhile I will probably go to Israel this year for my son's 13th birthday. Not sure what to do next. I'm sure I missed something but as I said it's late for me. I wanted to read the boards to learn if it makes sense to do a shorter RTW trip. So I wanted to search to see if the topic was around before. I don't think I'm a spiritual seeker but I'm not a group traveler much and I'm not really a backpacker anymore, but a little too cheap for first class. Travel is spiritual so I'll go for that.
